Balatro Friends of Jimbo free update is live

With the promise of a significant free update in 2025, Balatro continues to build on the hit deck builder with the second of three free updates. The “Friends of Jimbo” update brings theming options to the face cards of all four card suits. Despite each suit receiving a brand-new cosmetic card skin, the skins appear tied to a specific card suit. The combinations are as follows: Spades - The Witcher, Hearts - Among Us, Clubs - Vampire Survivors, and Diamonds - Dave the Diver. Players can find changes to the card skins under the “Customize Deck” tab in the options menu, and they are immediately available for use upon update. Additionally, the skins can be applied even if a player is in the middle of a run.
The skins apply to the King, Queen, and Jack face cards, all featuring Balatro-inspired artwork. The update treats players to original cards depicting Geralt, Yennefer, and Jaskier for The Witcher cards. With the Among Us treatment, hearts depicts a red Crewmate in various situations of Among Us gameplay, including an Impostor. Vampire Survivors club cards feature the Vampire itself, Queen Sigma, and Poe Ratcho. Finally, the diamonds feature Bancho, Dave, and Cobra from Dave the Diver.
It is always great to see a developer offer free content to their supporters, and players still have one more free update to look forward to before the major update in 2025. There is no information on the third update or when it will be released, but fans are excited for what is next.
