To begin, launch the Play Store on your device and search for "Bluetooth audio device widget." Install the app that corresponds to the screenshot below. Alternatively, you can directly access the following link from your phone or any browser logged into your Google account and select "Install."

Grant Permissions

Upon first opening the app, you'll encounter a setup guide that walks you through its features. Proceed through the four pages by tapping "Next" for the first three, and "Done" on the last.

In the app's main menu, you'll be asked to allow location access, which is necessary only if you're switching between Apple AirPods. Select "Allow all the time" on the subsequent prompt. For newer Android versions, you'll need to tap "Allow in settings" first before choosing "Allow all the time."

You may also want to enable the app to run in the background for improved performance, though this will slightly impact battery life. To do this, navigate to your Settings app, search for "Optimize battery usage," select "All" from the top drop-down menu, and disable the "Bluetooth Audio Widget" toggle.

Configure the Widget

The app will automatically list your previously connected Bluetooth devices, with new connections appearing at the top. You can select a device and tap "Change icon" to customize the button's appearance and name on your home screen.

Additional options include adding a Quick Settings tile for quick app access, hiding the device name on the widget, and automatically turning off Bluetooth when a device is toggled off.
