How to Get Faster PIN-Unlock on Your Samsung Galaxy S4 by Removing the 'OK' Step
Jul 06, 2025 am 09:11 AMIf you've had the chance to use both an iOS and Android device, you might have noticed a small difference in their PIN unlock screens. On Android, you need to press "OK" after entering your PIN, while on iOS, the screen unlocks automatically once the last digit is entered.
While this approach on Android offers slightly more security, that extra tap can feel inconvenient for users who want to unlock their phone as quickly as possible. However, by using the Xposed Framework, we can remove the need to tap "OK" on the PIN lock screen of your Samsung Galaxy S4.
Before Proceeding -----------------There are two main requirements for this guide.
- A rooted Samsung Galaxy S4
If you own the AT&T model GS4 with MF3 firmware, I recommend checking out my complete rooting tutorial. For other versions, you can follow one of our other softModder guides tailored for rooting the GS4.
- The Xposed Framework installed
I also have a dedicated guide for installing the Xposed Framework, so make sure to review it before moving forward.
Back Up
As a safety measure, create a full nandroid backup using your custom recovery (ClockworkMod or TWRP). If you don't have a custom recovery installed, back up as much data as possible. A highly recommended app for backing up apps and system data is Titanium Backup.
Install Wanam Xposed
To eliminate the need to tap "OK" after entering your PIN, we'll be using Wanam Xposed, an Xposed module created by Mohamed Karami. It's available for free on the Google Play Store and can also be downloaded from the Xposed Repository.
You may have already installed this if you followed my Xposed Framework guide, but if not, go ahead and install it now. It's completely free and includes many customization options for your GS4.
Activate Wanam Xposed
After installation, you'll receive a notification stating that the module hasn't been activated yet.
Tap the notification to open the Modules section of Xposed. If no notification appears, manually navigate to Xposed's main menu and then select Modules.
Ensure that the checkbox next to Wanam Xposed is selected, then restart your phone.
Set Your PIN Combination
Once your phone has rebooted, set your lock screen to use a PIN if you haven't already. Navigate to Settings -> My device -> Lock screen, then choose Screen lock.
Select PIN, then enter and confirm your desired PIN.
Enable Wanam's Quick PIN Unlock
Open the Wanam Xposed app and go to the Lockscreen section.
Scroll all the way down and enable the Enable quick PIN unlock option.
You’ll see a warning message and be asked to re-enter your PIN. Make sure it matches the one you previously set in your GS4 settings!
This warning about potentially locking yourself out sounds serious, but according to the developer, it would only happen if you enter a different PIN than what was set in your phone's system settings.
As long as both PINs match, you should be safe. If you ever change your PIN, remember to update it in both your GS4 settings and in Wanam's settings.
Reboot
After confirming your PIN, restart your Galaxy S4 to apply the changes.
Enjoy Faster PIN Unlock!
Once your phone has restarted, the quick PIN unlock feature should now be active. You’ll notice that pressing the final digit of your PIN automatically unlocks the screen—no need to tap "OK" anymore!
