Android Lets You Set Different Languages Per App for a Truly Multilingual Experience — Here's How It Works
Apr 26, 2025 am 09:08 AMAndroid 13 simplifies setting different app languages. This guide shows how to change an app's language without altering your phone's system language, allowing you to enjoy apps in their original language or switch between languages quickly. Note: Not all apps support this feature.
Method 1: Through Settings
- Open your phone's Settings app.
- Navigate to System > Languages & input > App languages.
- This displays apps with language selection. Find the app you wish to change.
- Tap the app. You'll see suggested and supported languages. Select your preferred language; some languages offer dialect choices.
- The updated language displays on the app selection screen.
- Open the app to see the language change.
Method 2: From Recents, All Apps, or Home Screen
For apps with multi-language support, a quicker method exists:
- Long-press the app icon in the Recents screen, Home Screen, or All Apps drawer.
- Tap "App info".
- Scroll down and select "Language".
- Follow steps 4-6 from Method 1.
This feature is available on Android 13 (Google Pixel 4a and newer, and other compatible devices). The process might slightly vary on non-Google devices.
