There's a lot to digest in Atomfall: skills, keys, a slew of weapons, consumables, tools, Training Stimulants, Training Manuals, and more. One of the most important among all these you should keep an eye out for is the Atomic Battery, as you'll need these to progress the main lead. Once you have some, you can slot them into various machines in The Interchange, thus moving your mission forward.

It's not extremely obvious where to acquire Atomic Batteries, though. In most games, you'll find quest items near wherever you happen to be trying to progress a given quest. In the case of Atomfall and The Interchange, you will find one there, but for the rest, you'll have to do some exploring, then return to The Interchange.

Slatten Dale (The Interchange)

Seek Out The Central Processor Room

Head far northeast (31E 77.8N) to The Interchange. Make your way to the Central Processor room (go generally north to find it) and take Atomic Battery from the researcher by the ringing telephone (see image at the top of this page). You'll want to use this Battery into the Bootstrap System Terminal to the left of the researcher. While you're at it, take Training Stimulant x3 from the device in front of the Scientist on the ground (look northwest).

Time To Stock Up On Supplies

Head for the Trader Camp in the northwest (26.4E 79.1N) and talk to Molly Jowett. While you're here, ask her about the village so she can mark it on your map for you. Trade with her for the Atomic Battery — it'll require a fair amount of goods (note she doesn't like Bandages). If you're short on supplies, go hunting for outlaws until you've acquired some weapons you don't mind offloading. After trading, you'll pick up the "Molly Sold a Battery to the Vicar" lead.

Wyndham Village (Vicar McHenry)

A Reward For Your Silence

Follow Molly's lead to "the Village" to end up in Wyndham Village. Head for St. Katherine's Church 33.0E 78.9N and speak to Vicar McHenry about the murder. Agree to keep quiet in exchange for an Atomic Battery, and he'll give you a key to grab it upstairs. Look for the stairs in the east corner and head up to find a large chest. Use the key on it to acquire the Atomic Battery.

Casterfell Woods / Skethermoor (Castle Ruins)

Deep Into The Castle Ruins You Go

Enter Castle Ruins in the southwest corner of the Casterfell Woods map (19.6E 83.7N). Take Castle Key from the counter on the far left side of the area and use it on the keyhole by the fireplace in the banquet hall.

Navigate your way past the High Priestess on the upper level. (She'll go down as easy as any normal enemy, so you may not even notice her. When she dies, you can observe strange smoke coming from her body, though.) Next, take the stairs down to find an Atomic Battery.

Casterfell Woods (Billy Gorse)

Burn Salves Will Go A Long Way

Find this strange fellow at 21.5E 89.6N in Casterfell Woods. Apart from a Consumables Manual and Poison Bombs, he will sell you an Atomic Battery. Affording both the Manual and Battery will be expensive, but it'll help if you craft Burn Salves (which he'll pay a higher price for).

Destroy B.A.R.D. Robots

Time To Summon Your Courage

Destroying B.A.R.D. Robots (those giant brown/yellowish hulking mechanical beasts) will yield an Atomic Battery. These are tough to take down in Atomfall, but it's very doable if you exploit cover and have some throwables like Molotov Cocktails, and, of course, ranged weapons. You probably don't want to attempt it in Wyndham Village as the entire army will aggro you, but if you're feeling yourself, go for it.
