Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies is packed with Easter eggs, and one of the most cherished traditions is the hidden melee wonder weapons scattered across each map.
On the map Citadelle des Morts, players can unlock four unique elemental swords, each serving as a powerful melee wonder weapon. These are obtained by completing specific challenges and quests throughout the environment.
Find a Stamp
After activating the Pack-a-Punch machine, a rare helmeted zombie may spawn randomly. This enemy drops a Stamp when defeated — just remember to shoot the body, since the helmet completely blocks headshot damage.
Collect the Stamp (more helmeted zombies will appear over time), then make your way to the Dining Hall. On the ground floor, you’ll find four knight statues, each adorned with a distinct animal that represents an element and its corresponding sword:
- Dragon: Caliburn (Fire)
- Stag: Durendal (Electricity)
- Raven: Balmung (Dark)
- Lion: Solais (Light)
Select a knight and use your Stamp on their statue to receive a Bastard Sword — the base version of the ultimate melee weapon. Each sword has its own upgrade path, and you can only use one Stamp per knight. You can store any sword with its respective knight at any time, and the order in which you upgrade them is completely flexible.
Upgrade the Caliburn
To begin forging Caliburn, head to the top of the staircase in the entrance hall while wielding the dragon knight’s Bastard Sword. Interact with the dragon statue to insert the blade, which will activate three marked locations visible above the statue’s head.
Your next task is to locate the fire cauldron at each of these points (refer to the image above for exact positions), ignite the flame, and carry it back to the dragon statue as quickly as possible. Be warned — holding the flame causes continuous damage, so speed is crucial. We strongly recommend equipping Stamin-Up and Juggernog, and having a teammate ready with a healing Field Upgrade could save your run.
Repeat this process for all three flames. Once the final flame is returned, the statue erupts in fire, reforging the sword into the mighty Caliburn, now ready for you to claim.
Upgrade the Durendal
To transform the stag knight’s Bastard Sword into Durendal, first retrieve the base weapon, then locate the three lightning rods hidden across the map:
- The first rests beside the Deadshot Daquiri machine at Hill Top, propped against a crate.
- The second appears after shooting the electrical panel in the Upper Village — but only if you’re using the Dead Wire ammo mod. The panel is near the underpass, opposite the Solais upgrade room door.
- The third spawns on a random enemy’s neck; killing them drops the rod. We encountered ours on an armored zombie in the dungeon area.
With all three rods collected, equip the Bastard Sword and go to the Hillside Ramparts. Insert the rods into the metal vase to trigger a storm event that spawns enemies. Now, get kills using the Bastard Sword to charge it up. Once charged, strike the vase with the sword — repeat this three times (until the storm ends). Finally, insert the sword into the vase to complete the transformation into Durendal.
Upgrade the Balmung
To begin crafting Balmung, take the raven knight’s Bastard Sword and proceed behind the statue into the Alchemical Lab. In the center of the room, on a desk near the globe, you’ll find an Antiquity item. Pick it up, then head to the Tavern basement near the spawn area.
Inside, locate the circular mechanism on the wall. Insert both the sword and the Antiquity. Each Antiquity displays a random zodiac symbol (ours showed a scorpion for Scorpio). Align the rings so that the > marker points downward, matching the zodiac sign at the bottom of the ring (you may need to consult a zodiac chart for accuracy).
When the correct combination is set, the device activates, releasing a trail of floating orbs that follow you. Guide these orbs through the purple portals that appear on the floor, following their path as they ascend into the upper level of the Tavern. After all portals are filled, the energy returns to the mechanism, completing the ritual and forging the Balmung.
Upgrade the Solais
The Solais upgrade requires constant weapon possession. As soon as you claim the lion knight’s Bastard Sword, glowing yellow parasites will begin spawning around the map.
Before eliminating any, go to the Upper Village and locate the door with a lion-headed knocker beneath the overpass. Return, kill one glowing parasite to charge your sword, then strike the door to imprint a light symbol onto it. Repeat this process three more times (for a total of four symbols), then interact with the door to enter the upgrade chamber — make sure you’re well-armed before entering.
Inside, proceed down the hallway and interact with the sword pedestal. Four floating yellow symbols will emerge, and you must shoot them in the correct sequence. Check the stone base of the pedestal — the glowing symbol indicates which one to shoot next. After hitting all four in the right order, the sword evolves into the radiant Solais.
