Some concepts are merely the pieces you put together before committing to an action, while others reflect people or terms who are associated with taking action. For example, the word COMPOSE is reflective of the action to direct music, as opposed to its other definitions.

For those trying to find the categories for today's puzzle, try using these clues to give you a head start:

• One category is about things referring to the action of writing something down.
• One category is about things you would use to play a game that rolls five dice for unique patterns.
• One category is about things related to fictional people in long-time film series.
• One category is about things used as prefixes to a word used alongside "logs" or "branches."

If you want to go all out with some of your clue-searching, you should look at the category names to get some extra help. There are also spoilers for each category if you find yourself needing to solve a single category to finish up.

Yellow Answers: Revealed & Explained

Though I didn't realize it at the time, AUTHOR and COMPOSE seemed similar enough to me to put together at the start of today's puzzle. This was due to how I imagined authors and composers putting together works of art, but it took me some time to find the other concepts in this group. Through the realization that an AUTHOR needs a PEN to WRITE or COMPOSE great works, this part of the puzzle came together in my head.

Green Answers: Revealed & Explained

NEEDS FOR PLAYING YAHTZEE
CUP	DICE	PENCIL	SCORECARD

I struggled with this puzzle section, as I originally imagined that PEN and PENCIL went together with WRITE for another topic. Then, I remembered how two other words in the puzzle, CUP and DICE, only fit together through one context - the game Yahtzee. This made it much easier to add PENCIL and SCORECARD to the mix, as both these terms are used for the actual scoring of a game of Yahtzee.

Blue Answers: Revealed & Explained

HEROES OF ACTION MOVIE FRANCHISES
BOND	JONES	OCEAN	WICK

This part of the puzzle was extremely easy for me, as I already had John WICK on my mind with the spin-off movie from that franchise releasing in a month. With this action movie character in mind, I recognized James BOND and Frank OCEAN from other franchises pretty quickly. The final word, JONES, for Indiana Jones, made the most sense to use to find the right answer.

Purple Answers: Revealed & Explained

___STICK
CANDLE	CHOP	JOY	YARD

This was the hardest part of the puzzle for me to solve, as I mistook CANDLE and WICK for being connected at first. However, I slowly realized that CHOP could reference a chopstick, an item used commonly to eat some types of food. With that in mind, I saw how JOY and CANDLE could relate to a joystick and candlestick, with YARD completing the set with yardstick to complete this portion of the puzzle.
