According to a recent press release, Quarantine Zone: The Last Check has officially "infected the hearts and minds of Devolver Digital," the game’s newly announced publisher.

"Unveiled in May this year, Brigada Games' first-ever title has proven so infectious that Steam wishlist numbers have surged past the 1 million mark—a level of popularity even Devolver Digital couldn’t resist," the announcement states.

In Quarantine Zone: The Last Check, you play as a FEDRA-style agent from The Last of Us, tasked with inspecting refugees using tools like UV flashlights, thermometers, and handheld scanners to detect signs of infection or smuggled items. Outside the walls, the city teems with the undead, and every person who arrives at your checkpoint could be carrying a deadly pathogen—or just a common cold.

You’ll need to make tough decisions: who to let in, who to turn away, and sometimes, who must be eliminated before they turn. Managing limited resources, maintaining order, and defending your post from waves of infected becomes part of your daily routine. It’s grim, but necessary.

With Devolver Digital now on board, Brigada Games plans to expand the game with additional post-launch content. As a result, the full release has been pushed back from September to November.
