How to Secretly Save Snapchat Photos on Your Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Without Notifying the Sender
Jul 22, 2025 am 01:05 AMSaving a Snapchat photo to your Android phone is straightforward, but it typically alerts the sender that you've captured a screenshot of their image. Some users may prefer to keep this action private, and fortunately, there's a workaround.
Earlier, I discussed an app for Android called Keepchat, which enables automatic saving of images and videos on rooted Samsung Galaxy Note 2 devices or other Android phones.
Although this function works well, it still sends a notification to the sender, indicating their image has been saved—which might lead to some uncomfortable situations if they find out you’ve got something incriminating on them.
However, I’m going to show you how to take screenshots secretly within Snapchat, using an app known as Snapchat Holo Edition.
How to Install Snapchat Holo Edition
Snapchat Holo Edition is a modified version (currently v3.0.1) of Snapchat developed by Ox Apps. It allows you to capture screenshots of received images without alerting the sender.
Uninstall Snapchat
Ensure any existing versions of Snapchat are removed from your device before proceeding.
Enable Unknown Sources
If not already enabled, navigate to Settings -> Security and check the box next to Unknown sources. This will let you install apps outside of Google Play Store.
Install the Modded App
Download and install Snapchat Holo Edition onto your Android phone. Make sure to grab the latest APK version, currently at 1.0.
Log in to Snapchat
After logging in, you'll notice a refreshed interface with a sleeker design.
Take Screenshots!
When viewing a photo sent to you via Snapchat, you can now take a screenshot without triggering a notification to the sender.
You can test this feature with friends to confirm it works—when I tried it, everything went smoothly. I sent a photo from my iPhone 5 to my Galaxy Note 2, and upon taking a screenshot, the sender’s app only indicated the image had been opened, not captured.
For those wondering how to take stealthy screenshots on Snapchat using an iPhone 5 or 4s, you’ll need to upgrade to iOS 7.
