Greninja was once voted the most popular Pokemon, and Sylveon, a fan-favorite Eevee-lution, was introduced at the same time. While you may not always see them together, with Pokemon TCG Pocket's Eevee Grove they make the backbone of a really dominant deck.
Greninja has seen intermittent play since it was introduced all the way back in Genetic Apex, but Sylveon ex's Happy Ribbon ability makes it so fast and consistent that you don't even need another Pokemon to secure KOs. Whether you're a Fairy fan or a frog follower, this deck is for you!

This version of the deck uses both Water and Psychic Energy. It can be modified to use only Psychic Energy by swapping Giant Cape and one Cyrus for a second Giratina ex and a Pokemon Center Lady, but you'll lose the ability to attack with Greninja.
Sylveon ex Greninja StrategyThis deck uses both Water and Psychic Energy, and is able to attack with Greninja, Sylveon ex, and Giratina ex. However, your main source of damage is Greninja's Water Shuriken ability, and both Eevee and Sylveon ex are there to help you get two Greninja into play as soon as possible.
When possible, set Eevee as your first Active Pokemon, and set all of your Froakies on your Bench. If you're going second, you'll want to attach an Energy to Eevee and use its Collect attack to draw a card.
Drawing cards is the entire purpose of Eevee and Sylveon ex. So as soon as you can, evolve Eevee into Sylveon ex in order to trigger its Happy Ribbon effect, which is essentially an extra Professor's Research.
Why do you want to draw so many cards? To evolve your Froakies into Greninja via Rare Candy, and start using Water Shuriken! You can distribute 40 damage between two Pokemon, or focus it on one while using Sylveon ex to attack.
Greninja is your worst option for an Active Pokemon, since it has the weakest attack, the lowest HP, and losing it also means losing your consistent chip damage. But in a pinch, the inclusion of Water Energy means it can attack with Mist Slash when needed.
Giratina ex is a backup attacker and cleanup sweeper. You can dump your extra Psychic Energy (and one Water Energy) into it, or use Broken-Space Bellow to add an Energy and end your turn. Just be sure to use all of your Water Shuriken abilities first.
One major drawback to this deck is that it's extremely vulnerable to hand interference, like Mars and Red Card. To play around these, you should play everything important as soon as you have it, and if your hand is full of important pieces like Rare Candy, Greninja, and Sylveon ex already, hold off on playing another Professor's Research.
Cyrus is the only Supporter card aside from Professor's Research, but it's remarkably powerful in this deck. Water Shuriken allows you to place damage wherever you want it, allowing you to combo with Cyrus to bring out important Pokemon that your opponent is trying to protect.
Sylveon ex Greninja Matchups
Giratina ex Darkrai ex
The Giratina ex Darkrai ex archetype is one of the most enduring decks in Pokemon TCG Pocket. With two heavy-hitting ex Pokemon that can deal chip damage while powering up to sweep, it's a tough one to beat, and has a slight advantage against Sylveon ex / Greninja.
Most of your damage comes from Greninja's Water Shuriken, but Darkrai ex can deal direct damage, as well. Giratina ex also has more HP and deals far more damage than Sylveon ex. In this matchup, you may need to give up both Greninjas while setting up your own Giratina ex for revenge KOs.
Silvally Rampardos
Fast, strong, and full of single-prize Pokemon, Silvally / Rampardos decks compete with powerful ex Pokemon without using high-rarity cards. But they have one big disadvantage against Sylveon ex / Greninja: You can KO their Skull Fossils before they can set up.
Rampardos is the heaviest hitter in this deck, but it evolves from Skull Fossil, which has 40 HP and no attacks. If you get both Greninjas in play, your opponent cannot play Skull Fossil without losing it to dual Water Shurikens, forcing them to play with half of a deck.
Solgaleo ex Shiinotic
Shiinotic's role in the Solgaleo ex / Shiinotic deck is to fetch Pokemon from the deck to your hand, speeding the game up in much the same way as Sylveon ex does. But while Greninja can deal chip damage, Solgaleo can OHKO everything in your deck.
Sylveon ex really suffers from its Metal-type weakness, without which this would be a much more even matchup. And since Shiinotic is a single-prize Pokemon, one way or another you will eventually have to deal with Solgaleo. Your best bet is to take out Cosmog before it can evolve.
