This time around, Killer of Killers is animated, but that has allowed the series to create an outstanding entry without spending $200 million on visual effects. I mean, I know the Alien vs. Predator movies weren’t great, but wow, those ratings. I’m also completely fine with Trachtenberg’s Killer of Killers and Prey being the top two rated Predator movies since, in my opinion, they are the two best films. It’s tough to say that over the classic original, but I’m willing to set aside nostalgia to evaluate which are genuinely better movies. And those two are.

Killer of Killers follows three warriors from different historical periods facing off against various Predator variants, utilizing the tools of their era to battle them before a larger-scale conflict that ties all the stories together. The fight sequences are absolutely mind-blowing, and the smaller narratives leading up to the conclusion are fantastic. My only critique is that I wish the final act had been a bit longer.

Personally, I prefer Prey more. Killer of Killers feels quite similar to that film in the way it explores different Predator encounters throughout history beyond its modern-day setting. However, both are exceptional.

There’s even more positive news. Trachtenberg is also helming Predator: Badlands, set for release on November 7, 2025, starring Elle Fanning and taking place on the Predators' home world. Fanning will portray a Weyland-Yutani android, bridging into the Alien universe once again. The film will also feature Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi as Dek, an outcast from his species who becomes a good guy.
