In March 2025, Cliff sticks with the same team he’s used in previous months, relying predominantly on Fighting- and Ground-type Shadow Pokémon. As before, he begins battle with Cubone from Generation One, a Ground-type Pokémon.

All of Cliff’s Pokémon are in their Shadow forms, boosting their overall power. If you have access to Shadow versions of strong counter Pokémon, they’re highly recommended for this fight.

For his second Pokémon, he randomly selects one from a trio: Fighting-type Machoke, Ground-type Marowak, or the dual-type Fighting/Ghost Annihilape. For his final and strongest pick, he chooses one of three powerful options: Poison/Flying Crobat, Rock/Dark Tyranitar, or pure Fighting-type Machamp.

The good news for March is that Cliff’s team shares several overlapping weaknesses, making it easier to prepare an efficient counter team. You can cover all his possible Pokémon with just two or three types, leaving room for a backup option.
