There are ten White Nevrons in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and speaking to them will give you a specific task or quest to complete in the associated area. You'll find these White Nevrons as early as the very first mission all the way up through Act 3. Completing each quest rewards you with some pretty decent loot, including unique weapons and upgrade materials. Speaking with the final White Nevron named Blanche in Act 3, you can receive one of two rewards depending on whether you decided to kill any of the White Nevrons along the way.

As you explore Clair Obscur's various areas, you'll come across peaceful White Nevrons that are available to interact with for optional side quests. These typically involve tracking down a specific material or item nearby or later during your progression through that area. The first of these you run into will be very obvious in the beginning of Act 1, but there are nine more of these spread across the remainder of the Continent. Keep your eyes peeled, and be sure to check out all the optional areas for collectibles like Expedition journal entries or unique records in Clair Obscur.

Rewards Include A Permanent Healing Tint Upgrade & Up To 100 Colour Of Lumina

Finding all the White Nevrons in Clair Obscur will require exploring many of the optional areas, including the Small Burgeon area dedicated entirely to a White Nevron and areas like Red Woods and Stone Quarry. There are many different optional areas in the game, and I highly recommend exploring them all to get as many upgrade materials, weapons, etc.

For White Nevron side quests, it's important to note that you'll have the option to fight all of these, but I highly recommend you refrain from doing so, at least for the time being. To complete the White Nevron side quests, you will have to complete minor tasks in the associated areas, and completing them all will unlock the "Aiding the Enemy" trophy/achievement.

For most White Nevron quests, you only need to track down a single quest item and return it to collect the rewards, but there are a couple of slightly more challenging quests as you advance further into the game. Note that you can receive additional Colour of Lumina and Chroma Catalyst if you fight and kill the White Nevrons, but you'll be missing out on a better reward later.

Should You Kill Or Spare The White Nevrons In Clair Obscur?

Spare The White Nevrons For 100 Colour Of Lumina

The final White Nevron is Blanche, and it is located in The Fountain, an area only accessible in Act 3 after unlocking Esquie's ability to fly. If you ended up fighting or killing any of the White Nevrons above, you will have to fight Blanche and defeat him. This is a relatively difficult battle depending on how leveled up and upgraded you are, and it isn't the ideal outcome. However, whether you killed any of the White Nevrons or not, as long as you completed their associated quests, you can unlock the "Aiding the Enemy" trophy/achievement.

If you spare all the White Nevrons, which is the recommended choice, Blanche will reward you with 100 Colour of Lumina. This is a massive bounty of additional passive Lumina effects, and it's much better than the rewards you'll receive by killing each of the individual White Nevrons. An argument can be made that the smaller amount of upgrade materials you receive by killing them is more valuable because you get it earlier. However, there are plenty of other resources for these materials in the early game, making it more beneficial to spare them and collect the larger reward in Act 3.

Additionally, after you collect the 100 Colour of Lumina from Blanche, you can go back and fight each of the White Nevrons and collect their individual bonus rewards for defeating them. This is the ideal scenario since you will end up getting all the rewards possible, even if you have to wait until Act 3 to do so. Overall, sparing the White Nevrons is definitely the best option, and the 100 Colour of Lumina comes in extremely useful in Act 3 and beyond to NG+ in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
