Pokémon GO is bringing you another great event called the Festival of Colors. This is the third time the event has taken place in the game, as it was skipped in 2024. It is meant to celebrate the real-world festival of colors, Holi, a Hindu holiday celebrated in India and other parts of the world.

The Festival of Colors event will start on Thursday, March 13, at 10:00 AM and last until Monday, March 17, 2025, at 8:00 PM local time. This means you'll have less than a week to enjoy the event, which means it's a good idea to redeem promo codes in Pokémon GO to give you a boost in Pokémon GO.

The Pokémon GO Festival of Colors event will bring several new Pokémon and their Shiny versions. This will increase the number of catchable Pokémon in the world. While we are seeing new versions of Pokémon, it seems like the debut will only include the shiny version of a Pokémon. The shiny form of Bruxish, a water and psychic-type Pokémon, will be debuting during the event. This shiny form has a bright red and green color with white accents.

Another cool addition is the various forms of Flabebe. While this might not be one of the strongest Fairy-type in Pokémon GO, this one comes with different colored flowers depending on where trainers are located. If you live in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, you can catch a Yellow Flower Flabebe. White Flower and Orange Flower Flabebe will be available worldwide, so everyone has a chance to get a rare version of Flabebe.

While there are no new Pokémon in the event, Shiny versions of Pokémon are rare enough to try and collect, too.

Shiny Smeargle is also returning to Pokémon GO but with a twist. You can only catch Shiny Smeargle by taking snapshots during the event. There will be limited chances to do this every day, so you have to pay attention. Once the event is over, Shiny Smeargle will leave the game again, and you'll have to wait until the next opportunity.

How To Beat Raid Bosses

The Festivals of Colors Event in Pokémon GO will have a variety of Raid bosses. Depending on your skill level, you may be more inclined to fight the more difficult raid bosses in March 2025 than the easier ones. There are three-star, five-star, and Mega raids that will bring a real challenge for you. Keep in mind the one-star raid is India-exclusive.

The three-star raids will put you up against the Eeveelutions: Vaporeon (Water), Jolteon (Electric), and Flareon (Fire). The table below details the Pokémon those Eeveelutions are weak against, but it's pretty simple since you're just using the type to counter the raid bosses. Basically, Water-types are weak to Electric- and Grass-types, Electric-types are weak to Ground-Types, and Fire-types are weak to Water- and Ground-types.

The 5-star raid boss is Tapu Ko, an Electric- and Fairy-type that has a weakness to Ground- and Poison-type moves, so the table above has Pokémon that are excellent for countering. However, since this is a 5-star raid Pokémon, it's a good idea to join a group of friends to fight Tapu Koko.

The boss of the Mega Raid is Mega Swampert. Mega Swampert is a Water- and Ground-type. This means that Swampert is weak to Grass-type attacks but can be taken down with Electric-type moves as well. I recommend taking on any Mega Raid without a group of friends or other trainers who can help you.

The Pokémon GO Festival of Colors event has many rewards you can earn through different ways of playing. You can get these rewards by completing Time Research, field research tasks, and through event bonuses. If you live in India, then you will get special bonuses during the Pokémon GO Festival of Colors event. These bonuses include special Branching Time Research tasks and extra rewards from raids. The Branching Timed Research gives Indian Trainers a challenge that others won't have.

While we don't know exactly what this branching timed research will be, we know that there will be 1-star Raids with Pikachu wearing a Kurta. It will also include one additional Cady for catching Pokémon in Raids. If you're not in India, you will not get these bonus rewards, but there is still a lot to do in the Festival of Colors event in Pokémon GO.
