Leaked Battlefield 6 release date semi-confirmed in standard and Phantom Edition post, and it looks like the threat of $80 games persists
Jul 26, 2025 am 02:12 AMUpdate: New evidence from EA has strengthened claims that Battlefield 6 will launch on October 10.
As first noticed by Wario64, a now-removed Battlefield 6 pre-order page indicated that a promotional offer would end on October 10, 2025. The associated redemption code, however, remains valid until October 10, 2027.
Given EA’s typical pre-order patterns, this strongly hints at a release date of October 10. That said, nothing is confirmed until EA officially announces it—especially since the page appears to have been temporarily taken down, possibly for updates. Additional details, including final pricing, are still pending verification.
Original story:
The official unveiling of Battlefield 6 is just around the corner, but a new leak has already spilled key details—pointing to an October release, a steep $80 price tag, and an even more expensive premium version for those eager to spend extra on EA’s next big FPS.
According to trusted leaker billbil-kun via Dealabs, Battlefield 6 is set to launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on October 10 with a price of €79.99. While currency conversions can vary, €80 typically equals $80 for most major game releases. If you believed Xbox’s recent retreat from $80 games signaled a broader industry shift, it might be time to rethink that assumption.
A higher-tier "Phantom Edition" will also be available for an extra €30, though the exact contents remain unclear. “Contrary to some rumors, the Phantom Edition is not a Collector's Edition,” states a Google-translated version of the French leak. “It is rather a Deluxe Edition, exclusively digital, including additional in-game content. No early access will be granted: both editions will be available simultaneously on October 10, 2025.”
Interestingly, the PC version will carry a lower price tag at €70, with the Phantom Edition priced at €100. While it's not unusual for PC titles to cost less than console versions, EA’s pricing strategy has been inconsistent. Battlefield 2042, for example, was $70 on consoles and $60 on PC—mirroring a similar $10 gap.
Some of these details could change ahead of tomorrow’s official Battlefield 6 reveal, but much of this leak seems plausible. In the meantime, EA has released a short teaser showcasing the upcoming campaign, giving fans a glimpse of what’s to come—both in the reveal and the full game.
Here’s hoping Battlefield 6 earns its place among the top FPS titles of the generation.
