This handy new Gmail feature is exactly what you need to clean up your inbox
Jul 20, 2025 am 12:58 AMGoogle has introduced a new tool designed to help Gmail users better organize their inboxes, aiming to reduce the buildup of emails from newsletters, promotional content, and blogs.
With the new ‘manage subscriptions’ feature, Gmail users can access a dedicated panel that lists all active email subscriptions.
This makes it easier for users to manage these subscriptions and eliminate unwanted messages that contribute to inbox clutter.
For added convenience, the manage subscriptions panel highlights the senders who email most frequently, along with the number of emails sent within a certain timeframe.
As Google noted in a blog post, clicking on any sender will display all emails they've sent.
If a user decides to unsubscribe, Gmail will process the request automatically, allowing for a simple one-click unsubscribe action.
This latest Gmail update shares similarities with Microsoft Outlook’s ‘Sweep’ function. That feature enables users to automate inbox management by setting rules to move or delete emails based on keywords or specific senders.
AI enhancements arrive for Gmail
Over the past year, Google has rolled out numerous updates to Gmail, with the most notable being the integration of generative AI capabilities through Gemini in Workspace.
Users can now utilize Gemini to summarize received emails, generate or edit outgoing messages, and perform advanced inbox searches using natural language prompts to locate specific emails or attachments.
Additionally, the AI assistant can pull information from Google Drive and Google Calendar to provide context for emails or respond to business-related queries like “when is the client meeting scheduled tomorrow?”.
