Adobe Announces AI Partnership For Commercially Safe AI-Generated Video With Moonvalley
Jul 19, 2025 am 11:14 AMMoonvalley’s exploration into AI-based video creation emphasizes both commercial security and creative autonomy. Recently, the company introduced Marey, its first completely licensed, high-definition AI video model intended for professional use. Marey has been developed using entirely licensed materials and will soon be available on Firefly Boards, Adobe's AI-powered concepting and mood boarding platform tailored for creative professionals.
Marey will soon be integrated directly into Adobe Firefly, Adobe’s comprehensive app for AI-assisted content ideation, creation, and production. Additionally, Moonvalley plans to embed Adobe’s commercially secure Firefly Text-to-Image tool directly into the Moonvalley application, as well as Voyager, the company’s upcoming control interface.
This collaboration enables Moonvalley to provide commercially secure image generation along with a commercially safe text-to-video process powered by the Marey AI model. The company also announced plans to release a new marketplace panel for Adobe Premiere Pro, allowing seamless integration of the Marey model into professional filmmaking workflows.
Training Based on Commercially Secure Content
This alliance was established to reflect a mutual belief that powerful generative AI can be created without infringing on creators' rights. Both companies have chosen to train their AI systems using commercially secure data, offering professional creators the legal assurance necessary for producing enterprise-level content.
"We're thrilled to work with companies like Moonvalley that share our dedication to ethical innovation and placing creators' rights at the forefront of generative AI development," said Hannah Elsakr, Vice President, New GenAI Business Ventures at Adobe.
"Thanks to this partnership, Adobe Firefly is helping even more people produce commercially safe video content in collaboration with Moonvalley. Since the launch of the Firefly family of creative generative AI models in 2023, Adobe has been at the forefront of creating AI that is inherently commercially secure—including the industry's first commercially safe video model with Firefly Video Model—enabling everyone from independent creators to multinational brands to confidently incorporate AI into their workflows without legal concerns."
Compatibility Within Adobe’s Environment
Naeem Talukdar, CEO and co-founder of Moonvalley, added, “The reception for Moonvalley’s Marey model showed that studios and agencies are seeking video AI that can be used in commercial settings. Now we’re embedding that capability directly into Adobe’s creative environment while incorporating their licensed image generation tools into our platform.”
“When you combine our licensed video creation with Adobe’s commercially secure image models, you get the industry’s first fully secure ecosystem for image and video content. This is about removing the friction between powerful AI tools and real-world production processes. Together, we’re not only integrating products—we’re showing that ethical AI development leads to better results for professional creators.”
In the last six months, Adobe has expanded its initiative to incorporate alternative AI models into its Firefly environment, giving creators more options. Adobe is incorporating partner models into the Firefly system based on user feedback about the AI tools they use daily.
Regardless of which model creators choose within Adobe’s applications, the content they generate or upload will never be used to train generative AI models. Adobe states this has always been the case for Firefly and is a firm condition in all its partnership agreements.
To enhance transparency, Adobe applies Content Credentials—a digital “nutrition label” for media—to AI-generated content in the Firefly app. These credentials clearly show whether the content was created using a commercially secure Firefly model or a partner model, allowing users to identify the AI source and make informed decisions regarding its commercial use.
