The best Honkai: Star Rail Jingliu build boosts the icy Destruction warrior's critical hit potential significantly compared to Jingliu's original version, although she requires a lot of support to reach damage output levels that other, more recent characters can achieve with less effort. Jingliu's new kit focuses on HP scaling and stacking as much crit damage as possible, which opens up some new Relic options and gives her a specific Ornament set to use.

Jingliu's 3.4 rework explained

Jingliu's 3.4 rework changes attack scaling for her skill and ultimate into HP scaling, but the bigger change is how her talent works. New Jingliu gains a Moonlight stack every time an ally receives damage or has their HP consumed, and she can store up to five stacks. Each Moonlight stack increases her crit damage by 22/44 percent for a total of 220 percent extra crit damage. These Moonlight stacks remain active until she exits her burst state. Jingliu also gains one Syzygy stack when allies take damage 20 times, allowing her to enter her burst mode more frequently.

Honkai Star Rail Jingliu Light Cone

I Shall Be My Own Sword, Jingliu’s signature Light Cone, remains her top choice because its bonuses don't rely on attack. It boosts the wearer’s critical damage by a significant amount – 20 percent at base level – and provides additional effects when the user loses HP. When they lose HP from a skill or enemy attacks, they gain one Eclipse stack (up to three). Each stack increases the wearer’s attack by 14 percent, and once they have three stacks, their next attack ignores at least 12 percent of the enemy’s defense.

Blade's signature Light Cone, The Unreachable Side, also suits Jingliu well now. Since crit rate isn't essential for her, the increase in max HP and flat damage makes this a strong, easily obtainable option through memory shards earned via the battle pass.

On the Fall of an Aeon is no longer a good pick since Jingliu doesn't benefit much from high attack stats and won’t be breaking enemies often enough to get the damage boost this cone offers. The 4-star Ninja Record: Sound Hunt is worth using instead. It raises the wearer's crit damage by 18/36 percent for two turns when they consume or restore their HP, while increasing their max HP by 12/24 percent.

Another 4-star option, Trail of Bygone Blood, also works well for Jingliu. It boosts the wearer's crit rate by 12/20 percent and increases damage from their skill and ultimate by 24/40 percent.

Honkai Star Rail Jingliu Relics

With Jingliu's 3.4 rework emphasizing crit damage and HP, you have several relic choices. One solid option is the Hunter of Glacial Forest set.

• Two-piece effect: Increases ice damage by 10 percent
• Four-piece effect: Increases critical damage by 25 percent after the wearer uses their ultimate

Alternatively, mix two pieces of Longevous Disciple (boosts max HP by 12 percent) with two pieces of Wavestrider Captain, which adds 16 percent crit damage.

Scholar Lost in Erudition is another viable option recommended in-game:

• Two-piece effect: Increases crit rate by eight percent
• Four-piece effect: Boosts skill and ultimate damage by 20 percent. When the wearer uses their ultimate, their next skill deals 25 percent more damage.

Honkai Star Rail Jingliu Ornaments

Jingliu now has two Ornament choices. One is Bone Collector's Serene Demesne, which increases the wearer's HP by 12 percent and, if their HP exceeds 5,000, grants a 28 percent crit damage boost. Alternatively, Rutilant Arena raises the wearer’s crit rate by 12 percent and provides a 20 percent skill and basic attack damage boost when their crit rate is over 70 percent. Thanks to Jingliu's burst state mechanics, she will always activate that secondary bonus.

Because Jingliu’s new focus is stacking HP and crit damage, prioritize those stats. In testing, Jingliu performed best when her crit damage was between 450-550 percent in combat, including five Moonlight stacks and buffs from the Remembrance Trailblazer. Her HP should exceed 5,000 to utilize the Ornament set effectively, though 6,000 or higher is ideal.

• Body: Crit damage
• Feet: Speed or HP
• Sphere: Ice damage, attack
• Rope: HP or energy regeneration

Speed, crit damage, and HP are your best substats.

Honkai Star Rail Jingliu teams

As a hypercarry, Jingliu needs other characters to help her shine. With her current kit focusing more on crit damage than before, consider these characters as her main support:

• Sunday
• Bronya
• Sparkle

These provide helpful crit damage buffs and let Jingliu act more frequently, entering her burst state faster. Make sure your support acts after Jingliu rather than before.

Hyacine is a great healer for Jingliu, as her After Rain state boosts the party's max HP and continuous healing helps compensate for Jingliu's HP absorption. Other healing options include:

• Huohuo
• Gallagher
• Luocha

What tier is Jingliu in Honkai Star Rail?

Jingliu's 3.4 rework definitely improves her viability, but she still demands heavy stat investment, her signature Light Cone, and specific support characters. Even then, she still falls short of damage numbers delivered by characters like Phainon or even The Herta and Aglaea. At this point, spending your pulls on her may not be worthwhile.
