ForbesToday’s ‘Wordle’ #1471 Hints, Clues And Answer For Sunday, June 29thBy Erik KainIt's the final day of June. The best month of the year has passed quickly and July is nearly here. I’m hoping this signals the beginning of a strong monsoon season in the high desert mountains. While I love June, monsoon season is either my favorite or tied with early autumn, before it becomes too chilly. During that time when leaves change color and afternoons remain warm and enjoyable. Goodbye June. Let’s tackle your last Wordle of the month!
How To Solve Today’s Wordle
The Hint: A motion involving the eyes.
The Clue: This Wordle contains significantly more consonants than vowels.
Be warned—spoilers ahead! The solution is about to be revealed!

Wordle Analysis
I use Wordle Bot every day to review my guessing strategy. You can analyze your own Wordles using Wordle Bot by visiting this link.
STAKE was a solid choice. Occasionally, choosing less frequently used letters in your first guess gives you a real advantage. That’s why I often try letters like K, B, or F, just hoping for some luck. FLICK reduced the list from 37 possible words down to only two, although I could only think of one: BLINK for success! (The other word, which I later found out, was PLINK. That would’ve thrown me off.)
Competitive Wordle Score
I earn 1 point for solving in three guesses and another point for beating the Bot. The Bot receives 0 points for finishing in four attempts and loses an additional point for losing to me. With that, our June score ends at:
Erik: 22 points
Wordle Bot: 9 points
A decisive win for me! June is my month, and there's no way I’d let the dirty, annoying Wordle Bot defeat me this time around. Onward into July!
How To Play Competitive Wordle
- Guessing correctly in 1 attempt earns 3 points; 2 attempts give 2 points; 3 attempts earn 1 point; 4 attempts yield 0 points; 5 attempts cost -1 point; 6 attempts cost -2 points, and failing to solve costs -3 points.
- If you beat your opponent, you gain 1 point. If you tie, you get 0 points. Losing costs you 1 point. Total up your daily scores. Maintain a running total or play fresh each day.
- Fridays offer double points (2XP), so all gains or losses are doubled—positive or negative.
- You can maintain a cumulative score or just enjoy each day separately. Have fun!
Today’s Wordle Etymology
The word blink originates from Middle Dutch blinken, meaning “to shine” or “glow,” and Middle English blenken, which meant “to rapidly open and close the eyes.” Originally, it described flashing or flickering light, later evolving to refer to the quick closing and reopening of the eyes.
