You must trade with Aurelinwae in the Mystic Emporium shop in the Market District of the Imperial City to acquire Magetallow Candles in Oblivion. Each set costs 2000 Gold, and she has two sets available for sale – one for each altar in your Frostcrag Spire home.

How to use Magetallow Candles in Oblivion

After buying Magetallow Candles from Aurelinwae, return to Frostcrag Spire and go to the platform near the top of its atrium to locate an Altar of Enchanting and an Altar of Spellmaking.

As long as you have two sets of Magetallow Candles in your inventory, you can now interact with both altars to set your candles up and use each altar for your spellmaking and enchanting needs. If you only have enough Gold to purchase one set of candles, make sure you interact with the altar you wish to use first, as you cannot retrieve your candles once they’ve been placed!
