Tips for defeating Balahara in Monster Hunter Wilds
Here are some useful tips for defeating Balahara in Monster Hunter Wilds:
- Balahara are vulnerable to Thunder elemental attacks, and attacking its weak points (Mouth, Tail, Head) is most effective.
- Balahara is significantly affected by Paralysis, which can be caused by items or environmental triggers.
- Pitfall Traps, Shock Traps, Flash Pods, and Sonic Bombs are effective on Balahara.
- Sonic Bombs (and Screamer Pods) are especially helpful when Balahara is submerged in sand.
- Attack Balahara's Mouth after it expels mucus - Balahara's weakest point is its Mouth, but you must act quickly after it sprays mucus.
- Use a Nulberry to dispel Waterblight, inflicted by Balahara's mucus attack.
- Repeated rolling can also remove Waterblight.
- If Balahara climbs a pillar, use your grapple to topple it, temporarily immobilizing the monster and allowing you to strike.
- Be cautious of quicksand pits forming if fighting Balahara on sand.
Monster Hunter Wilds Balahara weak points
To defeat Balahara in Monster Hunter Wilds, focus on its three weak points and use Thunder elemental attacks.
Balahara’s weak spots are: Mouth, Head, and Tail. The Mouth is a general weak point, the Head is breakable, and the Tail is severable. Attacking these areas with Thunder-infused strikes is ideal.
While the Mouth is Balahara's weakest point, it’s challenging to hit directly. Wait for Balahara to spray mucus, exposing its Mouth, then strike quickly without getting caught in the mucus stream.
Monster Hunter Wilds Balahara attacks
The primary Balahara attacks to avoid are its mucus and underground lunge moves. Balahara frequently uses mucus, but the underground lunge occurs later in the hunt when it begins burrowing.
Being hit by mucus inflicts Waterblight, reducing stamina recovery. Use a Nulberry or roll repeatedly to dispel this status.
Balahara’s underground lunge is dangerous, so use a Sonic Bomb or Screamer Pod to force it back to the surface when it burrows.
