How to start Dreaming of Blue Skies in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

To activate the 'Dreaming of Blue Skies' side quest, you must first finish the 'When Words Won't Do' side quest, which shows up on the Under Junon noticeboard after completing the initial segment of Junon’s storyline. Specifically, it becomes available after finishing the 'Friends Together Again' main quest in Under Junon during Chapter 4.

After completing 'When Words Won't Do', follow Toby into the Crow's Nest, then proceed to the noticeboard further down to view the new side quests, including 'Dreaming of Blue Skies'.

When you’re close enough, Cloud will crouch, suggesting you need to sneak up to the cow. However, the cow will flee regardless of how stealthy you are, so don’t worry when this happens—you haven’t failed the quest!

Track down the Condor's dinner

Use your Chocobo to pick up the cow's scent (press up on the d-pad), then follow the floating orb to the cow's new location. Defeat the Ignilisk enemies that appear, then watch as the cow gets carried away by another fiend (it’s not having a great day).

Use your Chocobo to pick up the scent again, then follow the floating orb past several climbing spots and into the fiend's cave, where you’ll have to leave your Chocobo behind. We suggest equipping Wind Materia and selecting party members capable of attacking flying enemies, because yes, you now have to battle the Mystic Dragon fiend.

The Mystic Dragon is actually a fairly strong enemy, so ensure you block or parry its attacks when you see the red text indicating what move it will perform next. Linking the Auto-Cast Materia with Healing Materia on a character you don’t want to manually control can also be helpful.
