Rune Factory: Guardians Of Azuma - Complete Farming Guide
Jun 06, 2025 am 12:54 AMWhile your primary objective in Rune Factory: Guardians Of Azuma is to save the world, you shouldn’t overlook the relaxing aspect of farming, which comes with a unique twist thanks to the Sacred Treasures. Early on in the game, before engaging in any combat, you’ll be introduced to this mechanic.
Farming isn’t just calming; it’s also a lucrative way to earn money daily. However, efficiency requires attention to a few details.
How To Plant Crops
To begin farming in Rune Factory: Guardians Of Azuma, you first need a development zone under your control. These zones are marked in green on the village maps. Initially, you only have one development zone per village, but additional zones become available as you level up the village.
After progressing through part of the main storyline, you receive your first development zone in Spring Village. The game will prompt you to plant your initial crops there. To do so, enter the development zone and bring out the Terra Tiller by selecting it from the Sacred Treasure wheel or pressing the indicated button on your screen.
How To Plant Rice
Most seeds can be planted in regular fields, but Rice is an exception, requiring a Rice Paddy. You’ll start receiving Rice and its seeds early by interacting with Jizo shrines. However, you can only begin farming Rice once you reach Autumn Village, where you obtain the necessary recipes.
Upon reaching Autumn Village, place a Rice Paddy adjacent to a Waterway tile. This fills the paddy with water, allowing you to plant the Rice seeds. For the best yield, plant Rice in Autumn Village itself.
How To Increase Seed Level
When planting seeds in Rune Factory: Guardians Of Azuma, you’ll notice they have levels. Higher-level seeds produce better crops, enabling access to advanced recipes. There are two primary methods to increase seed levels:
- After obtaining the Sacred Sword, swing it at fully grown crops to gain extra seeds instead of the crop itself. This not only multiplies your seeds but also has a chance to raise their level by one.
- Certain villagers with specific traits may increase seed levels when they harvest them. However, villagers are often less effective at maintaining fields.
All Seed Locations In The Open World
With farming basics covered, let’s explore where to find seeds. Most seeds can be purchased from General Stores like Iroha’s shop in Spring Village, though these are costly. During exploration, you’ll encounter areas with four tiles of crops. Harvesting these provides four seeds, which you can multiply using the Sacred Sword. Here’s how to locate seeds for each region:
Spring Region Seeds
Seed Name | Location | How To Get |
---|---|---|
Turnip | Spring Village | Automatically provided during the main story. |
Potato | Spring Region Outskirts | On the Spring Region map, locate the Small Pond in the top right. Take the path above it on the left. The seeds are on your right as the area widens. |
Onion | Spring Region Outskirts | Find the Vast Plateau on the left side. Look for a big white spot to the left. Seeds are on that spot. |
Strawberry | Winter Region Outskirts | Zoom into the Winter Region map at the top. Jump across platforms to reach a secluded area and find the seeds there. |
Summer Region Seeds
Seed Name | Location | How To Get |
---|---|---|
Tomato | Summer Region Outskirts | Look for a secluded island at the bottom. Seeds are beside a giant Frog Statue on the top left. |
Cucumber | Summer Region Outskirts | Near the Hanging Bridge teleport point, find these seeds at the beach below. |
Pink Melon | The Underworld | At the top left, hidden right in front of an ore deposit. |
Pineapple | Summer Region Outskirts | Top of the smaller mountain on the right side of the Remote Island. |
Autumn Region Seeds
Seed Name | Location | How To Get |
---|---|---|
Eggplant | Side Quest | Find hidden targets set by Yoichi. More targets lead to higher-level seeds. |
Sweet Potato | Autumn Region Outskirts | Below the Mechanical Maze, locate a small rectangular area on the right. Seeds are here. |
Winter Region Seeds
Seed Name | Location | How To Get |
---|---|---|
Pink Turnip | Spring Region Outskirts | On the Isolated Islet, break an ice boulder on the top right for these seeds. |
Carrot | Spring Region Outskirts | From the Pink Turnip seeds cave, go north near the Frog and Jizo Statue. |
Spinach | Winter Region Outskirts | Southern edge near the teleport point by White Wolf Mountain. |
Golden Crop Seeds
Seed Name | Location | How To Get |
---|---|---|
Golden Turnip | Dual Shell Island (Sky) | On the sky island shaped like a turtle, find it on the bottom right. |
Golden Cabbage | Dual Shell Island (Sky) | Between the two turtle-shaped parts on the same island. |
Golden Pumpkin | Mushroom Island (Sky) | Behind the house on the right edge of the island. |
Golden Potato | Omen Island (Sky) | Near a small building just past the teleport. |
In addition to these locations, you can also find seeds in random baskets after breaking crates. If a seed isn’t found in the open world, simply purchase one from a merchant and multiply it yourself.
