Even within the starting zone, sandworms can be lethal. The safest approach is to avoid large dunes as much as possible—the vibration meter at the bottom of your screen will notify you if worms are nearby.

The simplest way to evade a giant worm is to stick to the rocks. Map out your path to objectives by following the rock formations, crossing only small sections of desert at a time.

Certain movement abilities—like the Bene Gesserit dash and the Trooper’s grappling hook—can help you traverse greater distances without becoming worm bait.

Stick To The Main Quest

When we first started, we made a few missteps, primarily exploring beyond our intended range early on. While you might be eager to advance to the next area to keep leveling up, you can easily farm a few high-value Points of Interest (PoIs) as they respawn.

Hunt For Crashed Ships

Crashed Ships can be heard—and seen—falling from the sky. These have the potential to contain powerful loot, though you’ll need to chase them down and possibly face a sandworm to access their contents.

You’ll need to use your Cutteray to scan the ship and then slice open the side, indicated by a blue line. Try each side of the ship, as the panel you need to cut can be on any side.
