Today's NYT Mini Crossword Clues And Answers For Sunday, May 4th
May 04, 2025 am 09:48 AMToday's NYT Mini Crossword Solutions for Saturday, May 3rd
By Erik Kain
A relaxing Sunday awaits, though chores and work will likely fill much of the day. I plan to unwind in the evening with some TV shows and video games. Perhaps, given it's May 4th (Star Wars Day!), I'll watch a Star Wars film or continue playing Jedi Survivor.
I've been engrossed in some fantastic games recently, but they are quite time-consuming! I highly recommend Blue Prince and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 to fans of unique gaming experiences. Blue Prince is arguably the best puzzle game I've played since Myst, while Clair Obscur offers a fresh perspective on JRPGs, developed by a small French studio with innovative ideas.
But enough rambling; let's tackle the Mini Crossword!
The NYT Mini Crossword is a smaller, faster, and more accessible version of the larger, more challenging NYT Crossword. Unlike its larger counterpart, it's free to play on the New York Times website or the NYT Games app. Note that a NYT Games subscription is needed to access past puzzles.
Need a little help? Here are today's answers.
Spoiler Alert!
ACROSS
- Informal term for Napa Valley's famous wines – CABS
- "Immediately!" – ATONCE
- School children – PUPILS
- A mistake, or 8-Across reversed – SLIPUP
- Many new drivers – TEEN
DOWN
- Clothing items sometimes worn backward – CAPS
- Atul _____, surgeon and author of the #1 NYT bestseller "Being Mortal" – GAWANDE
- Hasbro toy with a pull handle and crank – BOPIT
- To criticize sarcastically – SNIPE
- What you're currently reading – CLUE
- Sports channel with "2" and "U" spinoffs – ESPN
Today's Mini presented a moderate challenge. Fortunately, 1-Across and 1-Down were straightforward, and clues like PUPILS helped solve SLIPUP. The trickiest for me were 5-Across (ATONCE took a moment to register) and 2-Down (due to unfamiliarity with Atul Gawande). I completed it in 1:07, which I consider decent.
