Forbes' NYT Mini Crossword Solutions for Tuesday, April 29th
By Paul Tassi
The NYT Mini crossword puzzle offers a quick and engaging challenge, typically featuring a 5x5 grid with a small number of clues. Unlike its larger counterpart, the NYT Mini is freely accessible on the New York Times website or the NYT Games app (though a subscription is needed for archive access).
I aim to complete the weekday puzzle in under a minute, but occasionally a clue stumps me. To help you avoid that, here are the solutions (spoilers ahead!):
NYT Mini Crossword: Clues and Answers
Across
- Picture holder - FRAME
- New spin on an old song - REMIX
- Cream of the crop - ELITE
- Hobbes in "Calvin and Hobbes," for one - TIGER
- Profit = revenue – ___ - COST
Down
- Agonize (over) - FRET
- Item in Indiana Jones’s satchel, perhaps - RELIC
- Compadre - AMIGO
- Itty-bitty biters - MITE
- Wield, as influence - EXERT
Today's puzzle was exceptionally easy; I completed it in a mere 32 seconds! The across clues yielded answers quickly, leaving only "Elite" to solve, which was easily deduced. Surprisingly, my economics degree wasn't even needed for the profit equation (though I do possess one). Hopefully, tomorrow's puzzle presents a more challenging experience.
