Forbes NYT Connections Hints and Answers for Friday, April 18th
Hey fellow Connections solvers! The weekend is almost here, and so are the answers to today's NYT Connections puzzle.
Earlier this week, I caught a Franz Ferdinand concert – always a blast! (And yes, "Do You Want To" is superior to "Take Me Out," fight me.) A small act of kindness from Alex Kapranos, their frontman, years ago, still sticks with me. It reminds me of the power of small gestures.
Before we dive in, remember my Discord group for NYT Connections discussions? It's a welcoming community for chatting about the game and more!
How to Play Connections
Connections is a daily word game from the New York Times. You’re given 16 words and must sort them into four groups of four based on their relationships. There’s only one correct solution. Incorrect guesses cost you lives (you get four).
Today’s Connections Hints
Let's get to the hints, revealing the group themes without the specific words:
- Yellow Group: Expressions of surprise.
- Green Group: Horror films (with "The").
- Blue Group: Things you can pick up.
- Purple Group: Possessions (singular).
Today’s Connections Groups (More Hints)
Still need a nudge? Here are the group themes, a bit more explicitly:
- Yellow Group: Interjections
- Green Group: Horror movies, each preceded by "The"
- Blue Group: Items you can physically pick
- Purple Group: Personal belongings, but without the plural "s"
Today’s Connections Answers (Full Spoilers!)
Ready for the answers? Last chance to solve it yourself!
- Yellow Group: BOY, GOODNESS, MAN, WOW
- Green Group: BIRDS, EXORCIST, HAUNTING, SHINING
- Blue Group: APPLE, BANJO, CARD, NOSE
- Purple Group: BELONGING, EFFECT, GOOD, POSSESSION
My Game
Another perfect game! My solving process involved initially considering words with double letters, then recognizing the horror movie theme, and finally piecing together the remaining groups.
That's it for today's Connections! Check back tomorrow for Saturday's hints and answers. And don't forget to follow my blog for more word game fun!
