The issue arises because the default behavior of the Bootstrap collapse plugin is to toggle the element's visibility when its trigger button is clicked. This means that clicking within the collapsed menu itself, including on menu links, does not trigger the collapsing action.
Solution
To solve this problem, a JavaScript event listener can be added to the document. This listener detects when a user clicks within the collapsed navigation and automatically hides it. Here's an example code:
